    Barça beat a Real record

The 2-0 victory over Real Sociedad at the Camp Nou took Barcelona beyond a record that Real Madrid had set in the 2009-10 and 2012-13 seasons.

Despite not winning the league either time, 'Los Blancos' managed to score a whopping 58 goals in the second half of the season on two occasions. However, the stunning overhead kick Pedro Rodríguez scored today took Barça beyond this figure and handed them a new record.

Luis Enrique's side have now notched up 59 goals since their twentieth league game against Elche (6-0), and they still have two games to play.

A large part of the team's voracious goalscoring has come from the attacking trio of Messi, Neymar and Suarez, a lethal combination that already has 112 goals between them over all competitions. At this point it looks highly feasible that they'll surpass the 118 record set by the Ronaldo-Higuaín-Benzema trio, since they still have at least four games to play, and quite possibly five.

Barcelona were still recovering from the effort and emotion involved in the Bayern game, and found it tricky to claim three vital points, but they pulled it off and their amazing winning streak marches on.
