All the sources we've spoken to in Guardiola's camp have voiced a similar message: "There is absolutely nothing in the City rumours". In other words, barring a complete debacle against Barcelona, the Catalan coach will see out his contract at the Allianz Arena. What would it take to change this state of play? Another thrashing in front of the Bayern fans, similar to last season's 4-0 loss to Real Madrid, could stick in the craw, but otherwise everyone concurs that Pep will be in Munich for at least another year.
This is not to say that optimism abounds in Munich right now. Far from it. As if the first-leg result, the injury-pile up and a run of four straight defeats weren't reason enough for doom and gloom, there is the prospect of trying to stop Leo Messi. While in the quarter-finals Bayern pulled it out of the fire with a comeback against Porto, Barça are a very different beast.
The next few days could be tough indeed for Guardiola, who will have to ride out the storm and begin rebuilding and regrouping. For the time being, though, the possibility of jumping ship and taking his crew with him isn't being considered.
