    James's battlecry

It has only taken James Rodriguez 43 games to make himself indispensable at Real Madrid.
Sixteen goals, fifteen assists and running an average of eleven kilometres per game is all proof of the Colombian's credentials, an expert at rallying the troops with his football on the field and with his words off it.
Just after the first leg match against Juventus he began his battlecry to the Bernabéu supporters, as if he had been at Real Madrid all his life. "We need to go out and slaughter them, the Bernabéu needs to be on fire", he told reporters at the Juventus Stadium.
More of the same, worded differently so as not to offend UEFA, at the Valdebebas: "The fans need to carry us to victory, we have to be united - the 80,000 people in the stands and the players - for maximum impact. They have to cheer on every action, every ball".
This is not just another game for James. He has dreamt of a big Champions League showdown at the Santiago Bernabéu all his life. The Colombian has racked up some spectacular numbers overall this season but in the Champions League he still has to prove himself as a goalscorer having only found the back of the net once in the eight games he has played, which he scored in the first group stage game against Basel.
