J. Cole Is Celebrating A New Career Milestone

And it's all thanks to '2014 Forest Hills Drive.'

J. Cole is celebrating a new career milestone thanks to his latest album, 2014 Forest Hills Drive, which has gone platinum, according to Vibe.

The RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America) announced the album’s gold certification in January, just over a month after its December release.

2014 Forest Hills Drive is Cole’s first platinum album (with a mix of retail sales and album streams), according to the Vibe report, which claims 2011’s Cole World: The Sideline Story sold 735,000 copies while 2013’s Born Sinner reportedly moved 720,000 units.

Ibrahim Hamad, J. Cole’s Dreamville partner, tweeted about why this accomplishment is so important.

Looks like Cole’s celebrating much more than just the Tidal relaunch he was a part of this week, an event that also featured Nicki Minaj and Rihanna, among other super stars.
