XAVI HERNÁNDEZ PRAISES BARÇA TEAMMATE "If you can't link up well with Messi, football's not for you"

Xavi gushed with praise for Lionel Messi while speaking to reporters the day after the Argentine's fabulous hat-trick humbled Deportivo.
"If you can't link up well with Messi, football's not for you", remarked the veteran midfielder, who has created dozens of goals for the forward over the last ten years and watched Ivan Rakitic serve up a couple against the Galician outfit.
Asked about the most influential coach he's worked under during his long career, Xavi singled out the late Luis Aragonés, who is credited with enabling the 'tiki-taka' style to flourish when guiding Spain to glory at Euro 2008. "I've learned from all of them, but it's true that Luis Aragonés left a huge mark on me personally".
Xavi went on to reiterate that he intends to hang up his boots at Barça and also looked ahead to the Champions League tie against Manchester City: "There are some tough ties at this stage of the competition. We've got a really tricky one". On this note, the passmaster expressed his admiration for Sky Blues playmaker David Silva, alongside another Spaniard plying his trade in England: "I'd sign Silva and Cazorla if I could… There are a lot of really talented Spanish players I'd love to see join Barcelona".
As well as missing Sunday's trip to A Coruña, Xavi sat out the La Liga win at the Calderón and both legs of the Copa del Rey last-16 thrashing of Elche because of a calf problem. He is currently training normally and hopes to be passed fit to face Atlético in the cup on Wednesday.
